Being Wise

In Proverbs 13 we see that a wise son does indeed live righteously.

So many things in this world try to keep us away from following the Lord but those who are wise will steer clear of all the things that tug at us that are not good for us.

This is a good proverb to read and digest. I love verse 14 'the law of the wise is a fountain of life, to depart from the snares of death'.

We have a fountain in our local park, it continuously recycles the water using a kind of loop - and this fountain of life in verse 14 is continuous - we need to continually surround ourselves with good counsel. Godly wisdom and good advice from others help steer us in the right direction, leading us away from behaviours that could be destructive.

He that walks with wise men shall be wise: but a companion of fools shall be destroyed (vs 20).

The Lord is my Rock

A friend bought me this lovely little book a few years ago and I've been filling it with little cards and my thoughts around the verse.

I thought I'd share my little devotional with you today and maybe add some of my earlier ones at a later date.

A New Creation

I've been a follower of Jesus for many, many years but still remember the day I repented and started following him.

I knew my life had changed even though I didn't quite understand the how or the why except I knew Jesus had died for me.

I read, at some point, 3 Corinthians 5:17 and there it was - the how and why and I now stood - a new creation. All the old things had passed away, the smoking, drinking, swearing. I'd become a new person.

I began going to church, meeting other believers and sang with great enthusiasm one of the first choruses I heard ...

I am a new creation,

No more in condemnation,

Here in the grace of God I stand

I am still standing today thanks to the one who went to Calvary and died that I might be saved and set free. Thankyou Jesus.

Romans 12:2

I do love blogging and I'm hoping this is the start of something I can get to regularly so here goes - my very first Butterfly Kisses and Daily Scriptures post. Most will be from KJV.

This is one I did for a scripture writing group I'm in - Scripture Writing Scribes.  The group was first started by Sherry from the Homespun Wife but has now passed to the lovely Kathy Bruce. I love this group and help Kathy as a moderator. We write scripture every day and as I did my page for today, which was based around prayer, I mentioned on my post the words I've used as my blog name.

So, let's see where this takes me and maybe if you stop by you'd like to follow me on the journey.

My first page is one I posted last month in Scripture Writing Scribes and it's a great scripture verse.

I have to say, this blog is more about the scripture than my artistic ability but I love to draw, colour, paint, use stickers - this is just me loving my Lord and his word.
